Holiday Honey Cutouts Recipe

1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup margarine, softened
2/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 large egg
2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 teaspoons water
Food coloring

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a nonstick baking sheet with cooking spray. Combine powdered sugar, margarine, honey, almond extract and egg in a large bowl and mix well. Add 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt and mix well. Place dough on a floured surface and roll to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into holiday shapes with cookie cutters and place cookies 1 inch apart on baking sheet. Bake 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove cookies from baking sheet and cool on a wire rack.

Combine frosting ingredients and mix well. Add water to thin for drizzling or powdered sugar to thicken for a decorator’s bag. Decorate cookies when cooled.
