Layered Mexican Dip Recipe
1/2 pound lean ground turkey breast
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese
Yogurt topping:
1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
Brown turkey in a large nonstick skillet for about 8-10 minutes. Stir in all seasonings, onion, bell pepper, beans and tomato sauce. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Spread turkey mixture in an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Combine all yogurt-topping ingredients and mix well. Spread over turkey mixture. Sprinkle with lettuce and cheese and serve with baked pita chips or tortilla chips.
