Habenero Chili and Fruit Salsa Recipe
1 cup ripe, firm mango, cubed
1 cup ripe papaya, cubed
1 cup canned or cooked black beans, rinsed
1 cup red onion, finely diced
Juice of 3 limes
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ cup cilantro, coarsely chopped
¼ - ½ Habenero chili *
Salt and pepper to taste if desired
*The Habenero chili is considered by most to be "the world’s hottest chili." Experiment with the amount used in this recipe to get a flavor and hotness that you like. Use extreme caution when chopping Habeneros... no rubbing your eyes!
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow flavors to mingle. Can be served with low fat tortilla chips for an appetizer or along side your favorite main dish. Tastes great with grilled chicken or fish.
