Certification Course

The purpose of this course is to introduce the Fitness Professional to the Apex Fitness Group and their role in assisting all individuals in achieving a variety of fitness-related goals. Through group feedback sessions, hands-on applications and role-playing, participants will identify and solve for appropriate adjustments to any software-generated programming for the goals of body composition change, performance enhancement and/or improving daily activities. Students will be provided with a variety of concepts relating to proper food intake and the use of appropriate nutritional products, grounded in the most recent research. Participants will apply their knowledge with an on-line examination, using specific strategies to effectively use all five components of fitness to change the lives of their clients, members of their community and themselves. Ultimately, Fitness Professionals will have the confidence to educate themselves and their clients; positively changing many lives, thereby establishing themselves as knowledgeable, credible and reliable resources for fitness counseling and services.

Certification Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the role of Apex Fitness in providing educational and informational support
  • Present the five components to others to stimulate involvement with service
  • Explain the synergy of proper food intake and appropriate use of dietary support products, within the five components, for attaining and maintaining fitness goals
  • Use the appropriate questionnaires to input data into the Apex software to create a safe, conservative and economical dietary support recommendation
  • Explain the rationale for all computer software-generated recommendations for the goals of body composition change, performance enhancement, and improving activities of daily living
  • Provide consistent and credible information regarding nutrition, dietary support and programming
  • Identify and practice strategies to promote program compliance, ensuring client success
  • Present themselves as reliable resources for fitness counseling and services, always using science as their support
  • Confidently apply the necessary information for successful completion of the on-line examination
Apex Fitness Professional Certification Course Overview
  • Introduction, Nutrition and Dietary Support
    • This session introduces and discusses the principles behind human energy intake and expenditure related to macronutrients, programming and menu planning. Sections introduce the integration of dietary support products with proper menu planning for hastening health and fitness results. The use of the five components of fitness to attain results and overcome fitness plateaus is also explored.
  • Overcoming Fitness Plateaus, Practical Application, Professional Development and Continuing Education
    • This session offers the practical application needed to confidently and effectively service clients, using the blueprint for a session-by-session protocol. The five components of fitness are reviewed throughout to assist students in encouraging client compliance and stimulating participation in service. Additional educational opportunities are also highlighted to motivate students to achieve elite status within the community.
