Gay Riley, MS, RD, CCN
A noted nutritionist for nearly 20 years, Riley serves as senior consulting dietitian
for Apex Fitness Group, Inc. and is also on the advisory board for the National
Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Riley has worked with individuals, corporations, professional athletes and
sport teams, local and national celebrities, restaurant chains, and medical
institutions. A varied background in fitness, hospital and clinic settings includes
expertise in several nutrition specialties, including diabetes, obesity, eating
disorders, hypertension, and pregnancy.
Riley oversees the NetNutritionist.com Web site, which provides one-on-one
counseling and programs over the Internet. Riley is also the author of the Pocket
Personal Trainer and has published nutrition and diet articles in various magazines,
newspapers and professional journals. In addition, she has appeared on numerous
radio and television programs.
Riley received her bachelor's degree in clinical dietetics and a master's degree
in nutrition and exercise from Texas Woman's University. She is a member of
many professional associations, including the American Dietetic Association,
American College of Sports Medicine, North Carolina Board of Dietitians and
Nutritionists and the International Association for the Study of Obesity.
